Kiwi, the best fruit for athletes!

With the Football World Cup in everyone’s minds, it’s time to put your sneakers on… You’re already aware of the many daily kiwi fruits benefits, but did you know they were also great for athletes? Before and/or after a workout, it is the fruits’ champion!

Kiwi: the great energy-boosting fruit

If you’re more of a morning person to exercise, you know how important it is to have a proper breakfast. Eating a kiwi will fill you up with vitamins and minerals, the best way to boost your energy early in the morning! It deserves the gold medal as it is the perfect fruit to cover the recommanded vitamin C daily intake for an adult. As a reminder, a single fruit contains just over 90 mg of vitamin C.

Well known for its anti-fatigue action, vitamin C also assists in the formation of collagen to bind the bones, cartilage and ligaments. Its strong antioxidant quality helps protect the cells from aging. These are very significant assets for people who practice a regular physical activity!

Kiwi fruit to recover faster after a workout 

Kiwi fruit is also known for its high potassium level which is mainly acting on articulations and muscles. It is strongly advised to consume enough to avoid deficiencies. A lack of potassium can actually cause discomfort such as muscle cramps. After a good workout, eating a kiwi to get enough vitamins, minerals and potassium will be helpful for a faster recovery.

For 1 liter

This detox water is thirst-quenching and rich in vitamin C.

– Take 1 liter of still or sparkling water and pour it into a carafe

– Cut out a few slices of our delicious Oscar kiwis, some organic lemon and fresh mint leaves

– Infuse 1 hour in the refrigerator

– Enjoy throughout the day
