Today, the Oscar kiwi is omnipresent in the international marketplace.
Primland sells 15,000 tonnes year-round! At 35 years old, this small green fruit continues its rise in the world. In the agri-food sector, the Oscar kiwi contributes to the standing of French businesses in China. For more than 20 years, the Chinese have been eating our kiwifruit!
This is a success story from the Landes that owes nothing to chance. It can be explained by the quality of Oscar kiwis as well as their double certifications, Red Label and PGI. Going deeper, there is also company dynamism and a team spirit that goes from the beginning of the production and marketing chain to its end.
It’s no surprise that it is so highly classified today! The international company dynamism of PRIMLAND has allowed it to enter into the Top 100 of French exporting companies, a ranking established in July 2015 by the L’Expansion economics magazine. In it, Primland is ranked 70th of all French exporting businesses in all categories.
This economic performance allows our farmers to benefit from the dynamism and business experience of Primland. Primland’s proximity with the market allows it to better define customer expectations and to design the supply of tomorrow.
Kiwifruit has become the 10th most purchased fruit in France according to Interfel (the trade association for fresh fruits and vegetables). Every year, the French consume about a billion kiwis, or 1.2 kilos per person per year.
This offers excellent prospects for a larger opening on the international and export markets.
