In order to guarantee customers regular quality no matter the season, Primland strives to control the methods of production, packaging, storage, and transportation used by their partners.

One of the secrets of success in the adventure of Oscar is providing our farmers with technicians who can step in at any moment in the operations. Their support follows the rhythm of the seasons. Thanks to their daily contact with our quality service, our farmers can maximize their production with respect for the environment.

A healthy environment for kiwifruit

We pamper our kiwifruit! They blossom naturally for 6 months in the south of France, in the orchards thanks to a mild, humid climate on rich alluvial soils. Kiwifruit are cultivated with the same know-how in the province of Curico in Chile. That means that Oscar kiwis are present year-round.

Following the kiwifruit trail

Since 1997, traceability has been guaranteed by the implementation of a Product Conformity Certificate for the Oscar kiwi. This reference allows for the brand’s quality to be raised even higher. In the orchard, the amount of inputs are reduced: fertilizers, water, and phytosanitary products. Orchards are selected and managed with 100% rational production.

In the fruit stations, the quality controls are reinforced on the products, and the traceability is guaranteed even while not strictly necessary. Our farmers are never alone, with a plantation aid program in place to support their efforts.

Selected kiwifruit

After harvest, our kiwifruit are put to the test. They are submitted to a rigorous triage by appearance and weight. Fruits are then honed in cold chambers and then packaged according to their category. In order to ensure the consistency of Oscar kiwi production, quality and traceability from the farmer’s orchard to shipping are verified by an independent organization accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture for certifying products. This additional requirement is rewarded by the application of various quality labels to the kiwifruit.

The quality of the transportation, the moderation of the temperatures, and the efficiency of the organization make Oscar kiwis a big player on the kiwifruit market.

At Primland, Oscar steals the show! It is our house brand, the one that carries the Adour kiwi name. A Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) obtained from the European Union in 2009, and the Red Label certification since 1996, mean that you get only the sweetest fruit.
