“For the sake of your health, eat at least five fruits and vegetables per day”
This is a maxim which you have doubtless heard since the launch of the “Manger Bouger” (Eat and Move) campaign in 2007 and in connection with the French National Nutrition Programme.
Eating 5 portions per day keeps you in good health, it’s true, but what we have known for a short period of time is that an increased consumption of fruit and vegetables is said to make you happier!
This is the finding of a recent serious study conducted by scientists in the United Kingdom and Australia, published in the American Journal of Public Health. The study, conducted over a 4-year period with a sample of more than 12,000 people, correlated daily consumption with feelings of well-being.
The results? The scientists observed that the people who consumed a large quantity were happier than the others. The “peak” was thought to be achieved with a daily consumption of 8 portions, or 720g. The correlation was established by examining the action of antioxidants on the body. A study which supports our brand positioning.
So, tuck in and don’t forget “Be kiwi, Be happy”!
