Tips for a healthy spring!

The return of spring is an opportunity to take care of yourself! We’ve asked Nathalie Perey, naturopath, for tips on how to take advantage of this season to do yourself good.

The sun is back and nature is in full swing. “During the winter, we usually have a richer diet and are also less active. Spring is an opportunity to release toxins, particularly in the liver,” explains Nathalie Perey. Indeed, the liver is a major organ: it is the body’s natural detoxifier, as it cleanses the body of toxins and produces bile to support healthy digestion. It filters the blood. That’s why you have to take care of this precious organ!

Spring is an opportunity to do it. To eliminate toxins, it is essential to pay attention to what you eat, as the naturopath confirms: “fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables are obviously essential. You can reintroduce more raw foods, add some colours, different flavours and textures too. Also remember to drink an average of 1.5 litres of water every day.”

Homemade, unsweetened flavoured waters are also a delicious way to stay hydrated. Add slices of fresh seasonal fruits (kiwi, strawberry, etc.) and a few sprigs of rosemary “which helps to remove toxins from the liver”, advises Nathalie Perey.

Finally, getting moving and practising physical activity, even if it is gentle, can only do you good. Enjoy spring time!
