Adour PGI for Oscar® kiwis: The Protected Geographical Indication (
PGI) is an official European designation of origin and quality that allows a food product's origin to be verified when part of its unique character is due to its place of origin. Because it has obtained PGI recognition, Adour kiwifruit's quality is linked to the quality of the terroir of the Gaves and Adour regions, as well as the Pays d'Orthe.
Adour PGI Oscar® kiwis are truly exceptional fruit, thanks to their
PGI status. Available from December to May, the Adour PGI kiwifruit is the truest representation of the Hayward variety: plump, firm, with particularly intense green flesh. And last but not least, it has a higher sugar content than other kiwis.
The Adour PGI kiwi is harvested and packed in the Pays de l'Adour region.
The strictest control ensure that specifications are followed, and that there is total traceability from the orchard to the customer.
